Our Board

Our Board are volunteers, and it’s their job to decide KRT’s strategic direction, monitor the delivery of our priorities, uphold our values and governance, as well as advise and support our Chief Executive Officer.

Peter Kane (Director)

Alan Doody (Director) has lived in Kingstanding all his married and has brought up his children here. Alan is involved in many groups including Kingstanding Housing Liaison Board and Community Watch to name a few. He has been a part of KRT since the very beginning  and he is keen to help Kingstanding grow where families can flourish.

Anita Ward (Director)

Cllr Gary Sambrook (Director)  is a local councillor with experience is human resources management, communications strategy and as a political party organiser.  Gary has lived in Kingstanding all is life and is hugely passionate about the community in
which he lives and represents.

Hugh McCallion (Director)
Kathleen Doody (Director) has lived in Kingstanding most of her life. Kathleen went to school in Kingstanding and now works within the area therefore has seen many changes good and bad throughout her life. She has been part of KRT since the start and hopes to be for many years to come.

Magurite Chung (Director) is a veteran teacher of English with over 30 years of
experience. She is a resident of Kingstanding and became a member of the KRT
in October of 2014. Her passion is to see young people trained in skills
which will make them contribute to society as well as increasing their
confidence. She is also a wife, mother and grandmother.

Paul Slack (Director) has been the Business Manager at Twickenham Primary School in Kingstanding for almost 3 years now after previously holding a number of senior positions in the private sector. Paul was raised on a council estate in the North of England and believes passionately in trying to give young people from disadvantaged backgrounds opportunities to believe in themselves and succeed at what they do.

The board are supported by our Chief Executive Officer Karen Spence. Karen is a professional fundraiser with over 20 years experience in project/senior management. Karen was born and raised in Kingstanding and is passionate about creating opportunities and helping local people become the change they want to see.
